From 9 October 2017, designers and manufacturers from all over the world can once again take the opportunity to submit their products to the Red Dot Award: Product Design, one of the world’s largest design competitions. The registration period breaks down into three different phases. Here you can find all important information.

The caravan sector is booming: More and more holidaymakers want to travel the world without forgoing the luxury of their own four walls. This is why designers and manufacturers now have the possibility to hand in their vehicles to the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2018 in the independent category “Motorhomes and Caravans” for the first time.

On 2 July 2013 it starts again: In its four-week exhibition “Design on Stage“, the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, Germany, presents what is state-of-the-art in international product design. Prior to this, 15 visitors run the chance to participate in a free and exclusive guided tour. In the course of the World Industrial Design Day on 29 June, starting at 3 p.m., the house offers exciting insights: for all those who can’t wait to discover the best products of the year, and for everybody who always wanted to take a look behind the scenes of a museum.

On 1 July 2013 in the Aalto-Theater in Essen, Germany, it is time once again for the best products of the year to take centre stage! For the 20th time, the large opera house becomes the setting for the awarding of the internationally renowned design prize “Red Dot” to creative designers and innovative companies. It has become tradition for Prof. Dr. Peter Zec, the initiator and CEO of the Red Dot, to host the evening. This year, he will welcome the Red Dot jury members Prof. Dr. Hamit Alpay Er (Turkey) and Prof. Dr. Ken Nah (Korea) as well as fashion icon Dato’ Prof. Jimmy Choo (Malaysia) onto the stage as guests of honour.

On 2 July 2013, the red dot design museum in Essen, Germany, invites to the seminar “New production forms and innovative materials for design and architecture”. Experts from around the world will give insights into the opportunities offered by using new materials and innovative forms of production. Furthermore, they will inform the attendants about how new materials turn into design potentials for designers, but also how traditional materials can be interpreted in new ways. Anyone interested can register as a participant until 26 June. The attendance is free of charge.
