Red Dot Award: Product Design 2018 – Fair adjudication of the products live and on site

Manufacturers and designers can enter their best products at the regular rate up until 16 January 2018. “Latecomers” still have until 9 February to register. In March 2018, the jury members will convene for an adjudication process spanning several days in order to test and assess the products.

Red Dot carries the design idea all around the world: Not only in its museums, but also in exclusive exhibitions, in design-oriented metropolises. This service brings innovative companies, creative designers and the expert public together. Last year, Red Dot has already been to the South-Chinese seaport and coastal city Xiamen. Under the motto “the world of red dot – business success by design”, about 120 products have been presented – all of them honoured in the Red Dot Award: Product Design.

The jury has reached its decision – from around 6,800 entries, an international panel of experts has selected the world’s best designs in the field of communication design and has determined who will be awarded the sought-after Red Dot this year. Young professionals, experienced designers and agencies alike were able to submit their creative projects for the Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2013 in a total of 21 categories. The result? - the latest marketing trends, happy winners and a total of 575 Red Dot awards.


New forms of production and innovative materials - Inspiring seminar in the Red Dot Design Museum

On 2 July 2013, nine experts from around the world gathered in the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, Germany, to give the participants of the seminar “New production forms and innovative materials for design and architecture” insights into the opportunities offered by using new materials and innovative forms of production. Together with the attendants, they discussed the influence of innovative manufacturing techniques on the design process as well as how new forms of production revolutionise the work of designers, architects, engineers and material developers.
