Best Practice in advertising: when an art director hovers

Every year, only a few projects stand out in particular in the Red Dot Award: Communication Design. The jury awards them with the highest single distinction, the Red Dot: Grand Prix. In 2017, among others the prize was granted to Achtung! and Studio Kraftwerk from Amsterdam for the advertising campaign “Hovering Art Director”.

The registration phase of the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2018 is completed and the jury is waiting in suspense for the assessment of the products. The jurors Lutz Fügener, Ken Okuyama and Martin Darbyshire especially look forward to the judging process in the category “Cars and motorcycles” as they will not only observe the submissions, but also test them.

The world of design has lost one of its outstanding personalities. Uwe Bahnsen passed away on 30 July 2013, but his designs for Ford will keep on standing for a unique era of the company. He has been working for the American car manufacturer for more than two decades. The cars he designed for the European market shared a new language of form, which has been defining for the entire automobile industry.

First exhibit of the Red Dot Design Museum Taipei revealed

On 30 August 2013, the new Red Dot Design Museum will open in Taiwan`s metropolis Taipei. A first preview of the awarded products, which will be presented in thematic exhibitions, has been granted by Prof. Dr. Peter Zec during an “Opening Box Ceremony”.

The house, which is located at UNESCO world heritage site Zollverein, invites design enthusiasts and all those who want to become it to a free guided tour of this year’s winners’ exhibition on Sunday, 25 August 2013 from 3 – 4 p.m.
