Red Dot Award: Product Design 2018 – Fair adjudication of the products live and on site

Manufacturers and designers can enter their best products at the regular rate up until 16 January 2018. “Latecomers” still have until 9 February to register. In March 2018, the jury members will convene for an adjudication process spanning several days in order to test and assess the products.

Porsche Design presents its first mobile in the red dot design museum

Once more, the red dot design museum was the presentation venue for an exciting new product: Yesterday, Porsche Design Group and the French Sagem Communication (Safran Group) presented the first Porsche Design mobile phone P’9521. In May 2006, both companies signed a licence agreement and the result of this cooperation is very impressing: The Porsche mobile phone unites a puristic design made of high-quality, natural materials such as aluminium and mineral glass with an innovative technology.

The first International Design Forum (IDF) is presently taking place in Dubai. It focuses on design in and for the Arabian world and is about to become a great success. Since 27 May 2007 the participants have been discussing jointly with renowned designers, architects and personalities from industry and science about the future role of design and creativity as innovative driving force. As official partner of the IDF red dot is on location with an exhibition of award-winning products and engages in strengthening the role of design as an economic factor in the Arabian world and actively promoting Arabian designers.

The exhibition with which red dot is currently presenting itself at the International Design Forum in Dubai has turned out to be a great success. It is well received by organisers and speakers alike. Even H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, president of the Executive Council of Dubai and patron of the International Design Forum, insisted on visiting the exhibition of award-winning products and talking to Professor Dr. Peter Zec, initiator of the red dot design award and member of the Design Advisory Council of the International Design Forum, about the red dot design award when paying a short visit to the Forum.
