Masayo Ave

Born in Tokyo in 1962, Masayo Ave is a graduate of architecture from Hosei University in Tokyo and completed a Master’s degree in industrial design at the Domus Academy in Milan. In 1992, she founded her own design studio “Ave design corporation” and, in 2000, established the design collection “MasayoAve creation”. Her projects, widely ranged from daily objects to architecture and from modern handicraft to mass product, have been developed in a perfect harmony of tradition and advanced technology. Her ingenious originality is based on her artistic research into the potential value of materials. She has received international acclaim in various fields of design. Since 2004, she is a guest professor at the University of the Arts in Berlin.
