Conference "Competitiveness by Design" in Helsinki

The conference "Competitiveness by Design – The Helsinki Summit for Senior Business Leadership" will take place on September 1 and 2, 2004 in Helsinki, Finland. The goal of the conference is to provide executives with an understanding of the strategically important role of design.

In companies, design can be used as a strategic tool to position a product in a more targeted way and to design it more successfully. The professional consultation by industrial designers is proving to be a valuable tool for corporate processes, leads to sophisticated innovations and, in the end, increases competitiveness. Executives are invited to discuss these issues during the conference with like-minded people and design experts.

Lectures by professors and entrepreneurs and workshops with case studies are on the agenda. Among others, Roy Fleetwood

(Victoria University of Wellington), David Kester (British Design Council), Raymond Turner (Design Consultant), Hans Stråberg (Electrolux) and Dan Colliander (Suunto) will be speaking during the summit.

The conference will take place at the Hilton Helsinki Kalastajatorppa; the registration deadline is June 30, 2004. You can find the program and registration details at
