Award ceremony 2010

More than 1,000 guests from all over the world had travelled to Essen, Germany on 5 July 2010, in order to take part in the awards presentation of the “red dot award: product design”, one of the largest and major international design competitions. Best of Dutch Design – vernissage with international guests at the red dot design museum

The public vernissage of the special exhibition “Best of Dutch Design” at the red dot design museum on 7 April 2010 was a complete success: numerous guests from the Netherlands had also travelled to the exhibition opening which was accompanied by a diverse programme consisting of lectures and a Design Talk as well as a broad range of exclusive designer food. Best of Dutch Design on show in red dot design museum

The finalists and winners of the Dutch Design Awards 2009 will be on show in the red dot design museum in Essen. From April 8 through to May 2 the museum will host the ‘best of the best’ of Dutch Design, as part of an international tour of the exhibit, showing design by renowned designers as Studio Wieke Somers, Maarten Baas, Thonik, Philips Design, Gert Dumbar, Jelte van Abbema (young talent 2009), and many others. Lord Foster Receives Order of Merit

On 18 January 2010, British star architect Lord Foster was awarded the Knight Commander’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. Issued to him in London by the German Ambassador Georg Boomgaarden, the Order of Merit was given to him for his outstanding achievements in architecture in Germany and around the world. More

Opening Ceremony RUHR.2010: Heavy VIP Traffic in the red dot design museum

The UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site Zeche Zollverein saw the festive inauguration of the European Capital of Culture in the year 2010 by the German President Horst Koehler on Saturday. Weathering the storm “Daisy” which swept over the Ruhr area with freezing temperatures and heavy snowfalls, about 100,000 people celebrated until the early morning hours. More
